The Quest for a Real Hard Hob, a brand new story, brought to life through animation and live music.
Berlin, 28th of September, 2012.
The Hard Hob is a creative collective from Ireland with a shared vision; to create a meaningful and memorable audio-visual live production. In essence, ‘The Quest for a Real Hard Hob’ will be an animated story accompanied onstage by a live band. We plan to explore new areas of musical and visual entertainment and produce a show that engages and immerses the audience in sound, story and emotion.
Set in the darkest years of the 22nd Century our promo video introduces City Redevelopment Robot, ‘Deco4′, who awakens to a seemingly deserted, post-apocalyptic world. As the story goes: “a hob is an element that can withstand great heat – it is only such an element that a robot can use as a heart”. Deco faces an epic battle, as he struggles to follow what is in his own heart.
The Hard Hob team, united in our belief and faith in the project, consists of four professional musicians/producers, two animators, (one of whom is an Artist/Film Director and IFTA nominated editor), an experienced visual and lighting director and an astute and creative project manager. The full 90 minutes show is followed by a tour in 2013.
Our second showcase of the full film will be performed on the 28th of September at Galliläakirche, Rigaerstr. 9-10, 10247 Berlin, at 9pm sharp. Now home to the Jugend[widerstands]museum, the old church provides a dramatic backdrop for the show. Entry is free, and we will be gathering constructive feedback from the audience.
“This is the most exciting thing I’ve ever done, to have a dream I had come to life. To bring the actual vision of it as a show to reality, on stage and on screen, is overwhelming.
It’s the culmination of a year’s work by the whole team. Deco 4 is at the beginning of a life-changing journey. I believe that’s true for all of us involved in the Hob.”
